Our crazy story of our family

 The story of how our family came to be....

In February of 2024 I decided to separate from the kids dad. I had a group of friends that compromised of people that I went to karaoke with. The problem with this is my friend Tim that I had met knows a lot of people in Red Deer. I went onto Facebook dating and proceeded to look at other guys profiles to see who I would match with. There kept on being mutual friends with Tim, even though I did not want to date anyone that would know him. I finally decided to click on a random guys profile that was mutual with Tim who was Russell. 

Our first date was awful. It was the first date after the separation. I was filled with anxiety and just not sure on what I was doing. I thought it was a good idea to invite this guy out to go to karaoke so in case things went wrong I would have people there to support me. The whole night, I had a panic attack and avoided the poor guy. After realizing how bad the date was I blocked him afterwards. 

Tim later on that evening had messaged me and told me how much of a "crap" person I was to block him and to remain friends with him as he knew he had a heart of gold. I proceeded to unblock Russell and I became friends with him. Going to fires at his house, hanging out with him around the kids at places like treehouse just like I would with any other friend. I could see then how I was beginning to slowly fall for him based on how he treated the kids. He selflessly would read to the kids, bring them whatever they asked for, would laugh with them and see them as "real" people. That is when I noticed I fell for him. 

Ever since then, time has basically stood still for our family. Meeting both our families, having our families meet each other and watching how everyone interacted so well with each other it turned into a bond, an Ohana, a family that is our family.
